Il n'y a pas d'oiseaux aujourd'hui ? Non, mais il en est quand même question ! Cette plante produit des fruits qui sont mangés et dispersés par les oiseaux (voilà) et par les mammifères. Elles sont réputés être une excellente source d'alimentation pour les tourterelles tristes. Est-il besoin de vous dire que, lorsqu'une plante est introduite au jardin, idéalement, elle doit profiter aux oiseaux :o) / No birds today ? No but... This plant produces fruits which are eaten and disseminated by birds (here you are!) and, probably, mammals. They are said to be an important source of food for mourning doves. No need to say that, when we introduce a new plant in the garden, ideally, it's a lot better if it is good for birds :o)

Amazing use of DOF Suzanne...love the colours as well. Might have liked the most frontal part to be in sharp focus as well...but then...still great shot!

This is a great photo of a Pokeweed (common name here in Pennsylvania). The selective focus is just marvelous! Great light!
Pokeweek is a native plant, and, as you say, birds eat it. Pokeweed also can take over. Yesterday we dug up quite a few pokeweed shoots coming up in our garden.
